Meetups
What are Meetups
Meetups are events organised by community members for other community members. They provide a space for networking, learning, and collaboration. Any member with a profile can create a meetup, specify a location and country, a date and time, and set a capacity for attendees. The system automatically determines the timezone based on the selected country to help attendees from different regions. Meetups can be held in person at a physical location or online as a videoconference. If you provide a URL or a link to a popular meeting service like Zoom or Google Meet, the system will automatically recognise it as an online event and display it accordingly.
Joining a Meetup
To join a meetup, simply click on the Join button on the meetup card or the Join Meetup button on the meetup details page. You will receive a confirmation email once you have successfully joined. If a meetup has reached its capacity, you will not be able to join until someone leaves.
Organising a Meetup
As a host, you are responsible for providing accurate information about the event. You can edit the details of your meetup at any time. Only you and community administrators have the permission to edit or cancel your event. If you update the details or cancel the event, all attendees will be notified via email.
Reporting a Meetup
If you find a meetup that violates community guidelines or seems suspicious, you can report it using the Report Meetup link on the meetup details page. Our team will review the report and take appropriate action.
Programme Events
Programme Events are curated events managed by our team. Unlike regular meetups, these events are often held on external platforms. Instead of joining through the community portal, you will see a registration link that directs you to the organiser's website.
After these events conclude, our team may import a list of attendees. If you attended a Programme Event and your email matches your community profile, you will receive a special badge on your profile page. These purple badges help you identify other members who attended the same events, making it easier to rekindle connections made in person.
